Van Gogh, two Sketches

I think Van Goghs sketches are remarkable and with a few lines he can catch the toil, and sheer hard wok of the peasant, This sketch may appear as if the peasant is frozen in time but then that is what a photograph does , so that shows how good Van Gogh really was.

Peasant Man and Woman Planting Potatoes This second sketch shows peasants planting
potatoes and was sketched towards the end of his life in 1888. These peasants are planting potatoes perhaps with more action  here than in the previous sketch because e there are two peasants.Van Gogh uses mainly lines and cross hatching.

Crows over Cornfield Van Gogh and New Painting

To days painting is by Van Gogh . I like the way the painting has movement and the crows flying, there is a sense of space in this painting. A modern day interpretation of a cornfield,

Cornfield and dribled paint

Cornfield and dribled paint

painted this over the past week , the weather here has been so grey!, we have a field next to the close where I live and there is a serial crop of some kind it is not tall enough for corn. This painting is based on this, I think the paint dribbling effect works well and adds interest.

Moonlight Sonata and Moonpainting!

Moonlight

Moonlight

After reading caththsheard blog I decided to dig out a painting of the moon i did last year, this has been exhibited and received favourable comments.
Also to celebrate the fact that I have got my appreciation of music back, this after having hearing problems for the past 2 or 3 months, and getting my hearing aides sorted (that is another story) I have posted a you tube video of the Moonlight sonata!
I hope this is not too corny. Music and art are closely related and classical music describe the various tones as’colour’ also there
people who can see music as colour. anyway I hope you enjoy this post!

Different Ways of Seeing

This photo spread was in The Guardian today also a direct link to his blog here, It does something for me. Slinkachu places tiny mofel in places in London, photographs them and leaves them for someone to find.

Now for something that I do not quite get, Tom Deinninger i ( and here)

He is contemporary artist living on Rhode Island and seems to deal with rubbish, I think he is This particular photo , the one with rubbish on the face of the Artist find disturbing but then , I suppose that id the whole point, it makes you think, but i do say Is it Art?

I suppose the real answer has to be yes. they are both interrating the world in threw own unique way.
